I was just wondering and double checking if Rabbits and Guinea Pigs can be kept together. This may have been posted a million times before, but I still really want to find out! :)

Absolutely not. Various reasons for this - most obvious being rabbits can give piggies infections and vice versa. Piggies need more vit C so their diets are slightly different. Injuries and bullying are common.
However, the reason I am always amazed when people insist on keeping a rabbit and pig together is the fact they don't speak the same 'language' and are completely different animals.
It's pet shops fault for keeping them together for years - it's become a terrible old wives tale :(

When I was younger, we had a piggy and bunny together, I had no clue it wasn't acceptable though but they were the best of friends and used to snuggle up together sleeping.

However I wouldn't recommend it now as I didn't know then what I know now. They are both in rainbow bridge now, they died weeks apart. :0

No no no no and no again.

Its already been mentioned up above but they're different species. Rabbits can often cause fatal injuries in piggies, without necessarily even meaning to :( They are so much bigger, and stronger, and they have very very strong back feet which they can use to kick.

Not to mention all the other stuff about cross infections and the different dietary requirements.

Its such a shame that a lot of people don't seem to realise the dangers until it is too late :(

I've had 3 pairs of pig/rabbits living together (before I knew any better) and we fed them GP food. They always did well together.

I have a rabbit and 2 guinea pigs now, they live apart, however I do let them play together, and they have done since Rosie rabbit was a baby. She has grown up around them and hates rabbits, but is so gentle and loves being with the GP's and they love her to bits and snuggle with her.

But I wouldn't house them together. Playtime and run time together is fine in my opinion as long as the rabbit is gentle and has always know pigs.

Everyone mentions the damages rabbits can do to pigs, but a lot of people forget how dangerous pigs can be to rabbits. They can be viscious to them, pulling on their ears and tail, and biting ears as well.

Definitely not. Apart from having completely different needs nutritionally, rabbits can kick piggies when they are excited which can be lethal.
