I don't know if this is the correct area of the forum to share. I own five guinea pigs and two bunnies.
I got my two sows two days ago, their names are Gwen and Toshiko. I really have to wonder at the ignorance of pet owners. When the girls were delivered to me they were stuffed in a wire-bottomed cage where they didn't have room to turn around. pow-pow The owner brought rabbit food, hamster/gerbil food, and yogurt treats:)>>> as well as huge excercise wheel:{
When I put them in the cage I have for them (plastic-bottomed large cage) they both looked at me like "Holy crap, someone gets it!" and proceeded to popcorn all over the place in excitement. Given they seemed to be fed anything but guinea pig food are their issues I shoould watch out for?

I'm glad they are happy and have a good home now. :)

They are probably fine, but I'd look out for teeth issues (not being able to eat properly), skin issues (itching, bald patches, scabs) and just general health (runny eyes, sneezing, diarrhoea, etc.)

Hopefully their bad diet they had didn't cause any lasting problems. :)

Oh my it sounds like someone really had no idea what they were doing. At least they're with you now.

Bless them. Can you get some pictures, I just love ooooing and ahhhing over them!

They might not have had enough vitamin C if they weren't getting proper piggy food.

As mentioned if they haven't had a lot of hay then there could be dental issues.

Sounds like they have a good home now :))

Welcome to the forum btw:)p

No, but that would be fun! I do have three boars named Lucky, Wishy, and Jinky!LOL- someone besides me is a Torchwood fan 8) 8;)
