it cost a fortune but I am soooo excited cannot wait :D for march 15th being waited on hand and foot is the best part for me as i'm sure you other mums will agree,
our holidays were always self catering so mum her had to cook etc but now they are older( only the 2 youngest are coming) I'm going to read some good books round the pool ;D ;D ;D ;D
has anyone else booked a holiday yet?

yay! congratulations Michelle! Can't decide whether to go to Somerset or possibly Devon this year, maybe neither! :D But cos we have the car it's different.. also the eurotunnel, seems an option! ;D

we didnt have one last year and the way the moneys going we wont have one this year
I really wanted to go abroad or to Woolacombe/Cornwall :( :'(

Ooh, Cornwall. We go to Newquay every year.
I'd like to go on a cruise. Far to expensive at the mo. 1 Week in Cornwall is too expensive for us at moment! :(

hope you have a lovely relaxing holiday
we have 2 weeks booked in a lovely cottage in wales with our 4 dogs can't wait ,we've been for the last 2 years and booked this 1 on the day we left as it gets booked up pretty quick

I cant believe how much they charge for caravan parks in cornwall, sometimes £800 for a 6 berth for a week...wtf :o

I know. Luckly connor is only 2, so not in school/nursery yet. When he is i'm expecting half term holidays to be at least triple what we pay at the mo! :o

wow a cruise ;) hope you have a great time, makesure you relax and enjoy every second.

i haven't booked any hols :( moving house this year :o moving in with my partner, big step after being on my own for 6 years.

it's all very scary, fingers crossed my son settles in ok, he says he's fine with it but you never know with teenagers. ? think I'm getting nervous, be like being married again, not that marriage is bad, had many happy years.

good thing is I'll be getting a 10ft by 12ft conservatory built with heating etc, so that my babies can have more room and loads of floor time ;D might be able to have an extra piggy or two ;)

If anybody comes to Devon or Cornwall or Dorset for their holidays, i live in Devon so i can give you some ideas where to go if you want!

seems like Devon Cornwall and Dorset are big favourites for you all, when I was growing up we use to go to a little village in Devon called Beer its gorgeous, I took my hubby and kids back there a few years ago and got quite emotional because of the family we use to go with a lot of them have died so it was quite sad but wonderful to see it again,
we went on a med cruise in oct 05 and loved it so much, my kids learnt so much that missing 2 weeks from school was worth it, they actually saw places that the school could only read about like the Colloseum, leaning tower of Pisa, Monte Carlo ( Rich sods or what) we saw boats with GOLD writing on the side hubby said can I nick the letter M it would set me up for life lol,
cruises are coming down in price and getting very popular I booked this one up in Nov 05 .

Devon and Cornwall are unbeatable,we've tried elsewhere even abroad but still end up going back there
its so beautiful there and would be an awesome place to live

I haven't been there for years, due to lack of transport - but now there's no stopping us! ;) except for the ickle thing of access ;) LOL

Ii hope you have a fantastic holiday Michelle and see plenty of sights.

On regards to the holiday question it is basically out of the question for a proper holiday for me.

Have a lovely time, it will soon be time to get packed :)

I don't see me getting away this year as I have two frail and elderly cats at the moment and I can't really leave them, they are almost 18 and 17 :-\
Hopefully we will get a few nice days out locally though :)

I'm so worried about Max as well he is now 14 as you know but seems to be getting a lot better now he has had the steroids and is back on his normal food, but I would not have gone in the hot summer due as thats why we lost his brother, my 2 sons will look after him as well as mum and dad 5 mins walk in the same road as me, plus vets will be told before i go if any probs I'm to be got hold of , so think alls covered but i will be so worried ,
just checking out how much a taxi is from the Island to Gatwick, as we only fly one way and crusie home to Southampton,

I'm sure he will be fine and happy with people he knows and loves....and very spoilt :)

We used to board all our cats, had 5 at one time ::)

But now my 2 remaining boys are too old to put in the cattery, one is a little confused at times and I think moving him would be way too much for him to cope with. I could have my sister come in twice a day, but couldn't ask her to do more. I know that they would probably be okay, but Tristan has had a couple of "fits" and I'd worry in case he had a "biggy" and no one was there for hours :(
They both need tablets twice daily and I doubt if sis could manage my black cat Sinner >:D

We had Sinner (almost 17) in for his tablet check yesterday and the vet said he is doing great and could last years yet...so I may not be looking at brochures for a little while :)

Animals ::)

Barbara :)

Yes i live in Devon, a city called Exeter, and i used to live near Beer, just thought if anybody wanted any reccomendations i may be able to help. And you know what guys, i am originally frrom Essex and i would love to go back there, you always want what you haven't got don't you? lol

Beer oh what memorys exceptt that damn hill up from the village it would kill me now lol, its such a pretty village though we use to go out fishing on the boats ,
what part of Essex are you from, I'm from Harlow and absolutly hate it there now, I would never go back if I did'nt have to its changed so much in 10 years

*whines*

now I just wanna book a holiday
Woolacombe is my all time fav,ive been loads of times and cry everytime I have to go home

I lived in Witham and Brentwood and i would love to be back in Essex or London, but maybe a busier part of Essex :)

my sister in law has recently moved from Witham to Bermondsey in London and I know Brentwood quite well, you lucky to live where you do now I think,

Barbara I hope your cats go on for years yet mind you that means no holidays for you, but we tend to give up things for our darlings, if max was ill before we went away I would'nt go simple as that he has given me 14 happy loyal years and I intend being with him when hes ill, we bought him an orthopedic bed for chrsitmas and he adores it helps his old bones lol, we also got him a stand for his bowls so that he does'nt have to bend down to eat and drink, anything to make his life easier, daft about animals are'nt we ?

One of my good friends lives in Brentwood in a lovely house that has a name rather than a door number 8)

Don't suppose it is woodlands is it bev? I know how nice it is to be near the sea, but there is no life here, i like london where you can go out and do things after 5pm if you know what i mean! sorry i seem to have taken over somone else's thread, my apologies!
