Just Had A Big Shock

Went in to replenish the girls hay and found a completely formed still born baby.It was Daisy-dots.Perfect miniature of her.Thought today she might have been pregnant cos of her shape.Absolutely gutted.Have only had her three weeks so she has been sold to me pregnant.Don't know if baby was Prem or Daisy is older than I think.Hard enough for me, thank god it wasn't my daughter that found it.Si gonna bury it in the garden tomorrow.Have separated her into another cage with poppy-rose for tonight so I can keep an eye on her.
 
OMG what a scare for you, I would make a vet appointment tomorrow to get her checked especially since you had no idea what was going on! Hope she does ok through the night!
 
She's fine.Munching away on hay.Will keep an eye on her .Could have lost both of them.
 
Phoned the pet shop I got her from and told the guy who owns it.He apologised but said he made no secret of the fact they were auction pigs and said someone else had split them not him.He admitted to me few weeks ago he had took a girl out cos had come in with boys from auction and she was on pregnancy watch.He then denied it last week when I asked him about it.Also slipped up and said the breeder he used to use used to bring them all in the same box so used to end up with people coming back to him saying the girl he sold them was pregnant a few times.Told him I wasn't impressed and it shouldn't happen and if she ends up at the vets he will be getting the bills.I thought he gave a dam about the animals but seems to me profit is more important to him than the animals.Had a go at him last year because the hamsters and gerbils only had sawdust.No bedding and nowhere to hide.His rabbit cages are tiny and he has had a large rabbit that could only just turn round for rehome once.Am not impressed at all
 
Terrible! This is the struggles of pet stores, I have been there and as someone who really did care I could only put up with crap for so long before I had to quit for my own sanity sake.
Keep being a voice, if he cares about money he will want to pay so you don't ruin his reputation, which you should also be sure to share your story with the vet and other customers etc.

awww poor little Daisy - Dot to go through such a thing... and poor you for having to see poor little still born... Awful pet shop man ! xx
 
She is fine, eating and drinking and running around with the big ones.There are pics of her in a thread pics if Daisy-dot
 
What a shock. Just glad that she is ok, poor little love. Sorry about the baby.
