I have not been on the forum for the past couple of days. Things have been a bit mad here. My darling Grandad, who has been poorly for a number of years was taken into hospital 3 weeks ago. After initially looking like he was improving and might get to come home he took a nasty turn last week. He began to suffer with a severe chest infection and then was taken into isolation on Saturday after the doctors found MRSA.
I visited him on Saturday and despite being a very poorly man, he was in good spirits and spent half an hour making me and my Mum laugh before he began to tire. His pulse began to weaken over Sunday, his breathing became laboured and a phone call at 1.20 this morning gave the news we had been dreading. He had passed away.
I have been awake since the phone call came in, sat with my Mum. I am running on adrenaline now. Feeling somewhere between frantic and numb. Despite it being very much expected, it was still a shock. It has now actually happened.
RIP Grandad. I love you. :'(
