I was actually just sat on the loo (LOL, nice imagine!) and the bathroom is right next to my animals room, when I heard this strange noise I have never heard before. At first it sounded like tapping, then bird song.

I have never heard any of mine do this before, or any other GP's for that matter, so didn't know what it meant.

I picked her up and gave her a stroke and a hug, she seemed very quiet and relaxed. I wished I wouldn't have now as I have realised it was a good noise, but at the time I wasn't sure if something was wrong.

I went onto Jackies Guinea Pigs for some realiable info and listened to her clip and it sounded just the same.

Aaaawww, I am so happy that I have heard it and I know it can be very rare.

Its amazing when you hear it for the first time isnt it, well actually, its amazing every time you hear it.
I used to have one piggy that did it a few times for no apparant reason, would just settle in and chirp away.
Then another girl I had did it just the once.
So Ive heard it a few times and each and very time was totally awe inspiring.
Its nice that you got to hear it :)
xx Stef xx

Wish mine would do it too. Never heard them. I've been hunting around on jackies guinea pigs site too and i cant find the clip :(

Piggy chirping

One of my male piggies (montgomery) chirps on a regular basis. He usually does this while chilling out in the space under my wardrobe. The chirping lasts for about five minutes and gets louder and more shrill the longer it goes on. The first time I hear it I thought he was maybe ill, but I done some research and found that it is nothing to worry about and that if you are blessed to hear this sound then sit back and enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS you've been honoured to hear this x)x)x)
I've only had tapes sent to me and it's the sweetest sound xoxoxoxo
I hope you get to hear it again, and maybe even get to tape it :)

It is just like a bird isn't it?! I heard it from one of the School piggies I took in over the summer holidays. Such lovely characters!

One of mine does it occasionally but i get ever so slightly weirded out by it and so do the other two piggies. Its puts all of them on edge for some reason...

Plus the last it happened the one who did it got picked on a week later and became under the weather...

Its all a coincidence probably but now if i hear her chirping i talk to her and she gradually stops... She doesnt seem to mind and knowing the piggy she is she would continue if she wanted to!

It is a special feeling when you first hear it though :)
