Just A Quick Question Re: Newspaper Alternatives

hi sorry but i have a little dilemma as ive ran out of newspaper for the bottom of the hutch and i was wondering if magazines were safe to be used as an alternative? ive always used newspaper (with sawdust and hay of course) so just wondering if anyone has any ideas as a base?

i have used plain paper similar to paper that fish and chips are wrapped in.newspaper off cuts,without the news.

My hutch has a lino base so I don't use newspaper - I just use bedding ( or fleece cage liners) . I find it much easier to spot clean without newspaper.

thanks for replies i just put the shavings down but i need something for today that i don't have to buy as i haven't got transport. I have everything else but newspaper so would magazine be safe to use?

l think magazene's are ok, when l get my news papers, the bundles usualy contain magazeins and they dont do any halm
the only thing l have noticed is that they are not as good at soaking up the wee

Just to be on the safe side it's best to take out any staples, piggies have a habit of chewing just what you don't want them to and they might dig below the shavings!
