My lovely Geoff is 5 years and 4 months old - I’ve noticed he’s slowed down a bit and sleeps a lot more and doesn’t tend to ‘beg’ for food but sits and waits now
He’s maintaining his weight and eating well
I took him to a Vet this week for a check up as he’s aging and all was fine - his hips are good and mobile
She suggested a joint supplement like Oxbow or other but said it was up to me
I just wondered if anyone has used this and would it help Geoff ?
I’d appreciate any thoughts or comments
I used to give my aging Lab a joint supplement and it did help him ….so just wondering

Hi

For the UK, we recommend Johnson's 4joints liquid for dogs or extra strength liquid for dogs for more advanced cases.
Quite a number of us have been supporting their own oldies and - like in my own experiences - have found that it really improves mobility and quality of life. It is available online or in pet shops. I can no longer link it directly, unfortunately.

Oxbow support is pretty low level in our experience with it. It is more for slowing down the onset and lower levels of arthritis.

This guide here has lots of practical tips for looking after guinea pigs with mobility issues; especially as they often tend to be older and frailer: Looking After Guinea Pigs With Limited or No Mobility

All the best!

I’m just wondering what dosage I should give Geoff if I use the Johnsons 4joint liquid for dogs ?
Thank you

We go by 0.4 ml for 1000g once daily. Then you adjust accordingly up and down from there.
