Jicama

I have offered this to my piggy and he loves it. I have only given it as a treat since it is not on any list. It is a root veg that is like a chalky apple. Not sure if it is widely eaten in the UK but in California it is (part of Mexican cuisine). I am thinking it is okay as a treat but to over do it... Thoughts?
