Old lady Jezzy floof had a vet appointment last week that I postponed due to the heatwave... nothing urgent enough to risk her travelling in 30 degree heat! She is old and a bit grumpy and more wee soaked that usual and a bit vocal and nippy about being touched... today on her now weekly bum bath she was much less stressed but seems to have a hard pea size lump under the skin on the back of her upper thigh? Very hard quite pronounced lump I felt while shampooing her wee pants then had a look at while we were getting dried, she's needed a lot of old lady summer wee pants bum baths lately and I never felt it before... completely under the skin not in the skin? No broken skin. Just like someone put a dried pea under the skin where her the back of her thigh meets her groin.
We have the vets Thursday but I wonder if anyone knows what it might be?
I think our vets are still operating as owner waits outside and piggy goes in alone, so if there are any things I could write for the vet to specifically check regarding this lump in my accompanying essay that will go in with Jezzy that would be great :)
She's obviously old, obviously not keeping herself very clean, needs checking for potential arthritis and ovarian cysts, but otherwise generally a very cheerful and lively old lady with a big appetite... but also now a little lump in an odd place...

Hopefully it’s nothing major. All the best with the vets Thursday.

All the best with your vet working out what that one is and fingers crossed. I think any decisions very much depend on your vet's hands-on examination and age considerations coming into play with treatment options. It's quite a wide field.
With any lump sitting firmly in an area where lymph nodes are located or lumps sitting very close to a bone will be looked at differently to a lump sitting loosely in the skin. What you want to write is down to how much you trust your treating vet.

Fingers crossed! At least it doesn't impede her!

Aw poor old lady Jezzy hope it’s nothing much and doesn’t effect her daily life. I notice Ginger had a small pea sized lump and it turned out to be a cyst that was on her hip area, Simon operated and she’s been fine since

Hope all goes well for Jezzy on Thursday. Sending healing vibes from me and the piggies. I noticed in the very hot weather that my two older girls were a bit wet around the bum too, i think they just couldn't be bothered to move. So it was bum baths for them both.
