Porridge is my top piggie and over the last few days if any member of the family strokes another piggie next to her (it has always been Polo as she never runs away most people stroke her as they walk past the cage) she bites you, just a little nip not to draw blood, she has done this to my son and daughter and i tried this morning and she does keep turning her head at you then her whole body as she tries to nip, so i stroked her and she layed down all relaxed and let me!

Could she be jealous shes not getting much cuddles?

I'm not sure, it makes sense i suppose, or maybe she is being protective of polo for some reason.

I know its different but we have 2 cats, both sister, both very relaxed, will never ever go to scratch or bite you, last year Lizzy had a long claw which grew so long it curled under into her pad and she had to be taken to the vet to have it all sorted etc, the night she came back chrissy sat by her all night (they not normally fussed about being near each other), obviusly lizzy was getting lots of attention and chrissy was being very protective of her everytime someone stroked her, she would bat you with her paw or meow at you, it was so strange but sweet.

So i am not sure, its odd that she ownt bite you when you stroke her, but will with one of the others.

Polo likes to think shes the boss but shes not even so she will nip at most of the other piggies if they get in her way ive never seen Polo tell Porridge off, i spose i will just have to keep watching and see if i can find a more definate trigger

My one girl does this to. If I have both on my lap and stroke My, Mummlen bites her. Is this jealousy? She looks and act cranky. I just drop Mummlen in the cage if she acts like that. But then they scream for each other. They are cute. x)

She sounds like the boss pig,my piggie is biting the stroker not the pig, guineapigs are NOT simple animals even tho they look it lol theres always someting for us to work out!

It's likely she's wanting attention from you as well, but not necessarily showing signs of jealousy as guinea-pigs do not possess human emotions like that.

When I have Flash out for a cuddle, Gordon sometimes chatters his teeth at me as if to say give me back my friend. He's a softy really as he loves cuddles and a good chin tickle.
