Our two pigs 'Jabba & Chewie' (blood brothers) are being very strange.
This is since they have eaten a lot of dandelions (like a whole plastic shopping bag full) over the last couple of days.

Jabba has appeared to be mounting chewie - I dont know whether he is getting horny or just trying to show chewie who the boss is!

I got them out earlier and instead of sitting really still when I'm normally there they were shuffling around on top of the hutch, spectating the drop to the floor and then leaping off - needless to say I caught them safely.. they have not done this before.

I have also noticed when they are together jabba is either pecking at chewies head or licking it or something..

They are sleeping in pancake positions all the time and lying next to each other. This is very odd. Maybe its cos the weather is getting warmer?

Also both their ball-sacks are hanging out all the time, I was like 'put them away boys!' LOL

:)) How old is Jabba and Chewie, Chriscundy? They sound as if they are confident and contented boys. I would hazard a guess that they are going through adolescence (naturally, this is depending on their ages).

On a final note, I encourage a varied diet. However, treats should be feed in moderation and introduced over a period of time. A bag of dandelions over a two day period is not advisable.

How old are your boys? I suspect that they are just reaching the "puberty" phase (3-12 months old) when their testicles are descending and their hormones really kick in. Nothing at all to do with dandelion (all that can do is make them pee A LOT as it has diuretic qualities).

Here is a link to boar behaviour that can explain more of what you are seeing:
