Does anyone on here know where I can buy some Ivomec? I used to get it from a breeder but I have now moved and the local Vet will not sell it as a preventative measure - only as a cure - obviously they need to make their money somehow!

Because you don't actually know what the product is it could be anything, even plain water. I wouldn't buy any tablets for animals or humans on Ebay. Not sure where else you can get it, but personally don't think Ebay is a wise move. :)

Yeah I never thought of that! 98)

I would never buy any medication or supplement from the internet,.There are too many "copies" flooding the market. You do not know what is in these cheap products.Much safer to buy from a vet.

I buy 50ml bottles of injectable ivomec, I buy it on the internet as its a lot cheaper than my vets. There is nothing wrong with buying these products on the internet as long as you use a reputable company. For people with just a few pigs the easiest way to buy it is here http://www.hyperdrug.co.uk/prodinfo.asp?number=IVE1 , I have used the company before for other things, prices are reasonable and they send the stuff out to you quickly ;)

So do you actually inject it then? I'd be terrified! :~D I used to get stuff that I put at the back of their ears.

i
Give it by mouth ;)
Even though I have been shown and have injected, I give it by mouth because noone is around to hold the piggies most of the time.

I have bought the drops from the seller I recommended on eBay, they are the PharmaQ drops that someone else has recommended so you can also go direct to PharmaQ at:
http://www.pharmaq.co.uk/shop/
The drops are sealed. I have used them to treat bad mange in two of my guinea pigs with success so I know they worked well for us :-) You apply them to the back of the neck.

Can you explain what thats a relief bit to me please? I was shown how to do injections on small animals by a vet whom I have known since we were kids. To this safely the animal has to be held by another person. I will inject which I prefer to do if someone is around to hold the animal. Your post came across as sarcasticness towards me. :-\

I was not being sarcastic at all - I think you have misread my post or misunderstood anyway. I was just commenting that it's a relief that I would not have to inject the Ivomec as I have never done so and would be really scared to. I am puzzled as to why this sounds sarcastic. There was no intention to cause offence.
