Carl is driving me crazy. he constantlly bites everyone. I have tried lots of things and nothing will stop him. Any ideas? x
 
Just people. He is really loving piggie with the other pigs. He'll cuddle up beside my girls and be very happy. However if a human goes near him he bites and it hurts. I love him to bits but don't know what to do now. xx
 
Minty is EXACTLY the same...have you had Carl checked for skin condtions that might be making him sensitive? Had Minty checked over and nothing was found. And he was OK as a baby, but as he got older he just started not liking people touching him - and sinks his teeth in to let you know! I can occasionally stroke the top of his head, but only if he's in the right mood. He'll happily come up to you and sniff and take food from you, just don't touch him back! The only time I can get hold of him is by throwing a towel over him. Otherwise it's a case of getting him in his chube, or turning his pigloo upside down and bribing him! ::) It's just a case of understanding him and leaving him to it...!
 
Yeah it's a good idea to check him out for things that might make him uncomfy. A pair of gardening gloves is a good investment... he would bite and not get a reaction.
 
DSL - just bought gloves.

He had mites and fungal when i got him and has always been a biter. Had him at vets and they said there is nothing at all wrong with him apart from the fact he is a grump. He comes to the cage to talk to me but he draws the line there.

Hahah - they would get on great...... I am just glad i have 6 othe piggies that like to be cuddled. I get 3 strokes maximun before he bites. x
 
I assume he has plenty to chew on as far as blocks,etc, but is he chewing on those blocks? Make sure he doesn't have any teeth problems going on. This could cause him to be grumpy and bite. I find some guinea pigs will chew certain blocks, and others won't. Find what works for him and make sure he uses it. I have one pig that likes bricks and another that likes wood blocks.
 
he has loads to chew on. The vet said he can't see anything wrong with him at all. he just doesn't like getting touched. x
