i made some snuggys for my old girls a while back.. They where hand stitched (i had only just learned) and werent great but they have done the job and stayed in one piece being washed at 60 degrees.

I have now got a sewing machine, again i have just learnt how to use one! I have made some minion cage liners for under the houses and some more snuggys!

The liners have a fleece outter which will allow urine through and keep pigs dry, and it has a thick washable absorbent core that locks in moisture.. Keeps the top dry again and has a waterproof base so it all stays inside! I have plenty more of the pads and will make some more with different fleece!

They look fab, I am sure the ladies are going to love them! Minions fleece is sooooo cool

Abys are so bloody grumpy, we have an Aby (Widget) whose hormones are rampant at moment and is humping everything... Vimto an abyruvian who has a real teeth chattering issue (like a human anger problem i think) and Sasspy a rex that always looks grumpy :))

Crunchie is just a crabbit old woman haha.. Poor fudge gets headbutted for no reason, but will then put her face next to crunchies and holds her eyes shut, waiting for a kiss of forgiveness.. She seeks forgiveness when shes done nothing wrong it makes me wanna cry haha

Awww bless Fudge, she is such a sweetheart. Aby's rule with iron fists don't they :))
 
I bought 3 paw print animal mattresses from my local pound shop, when folded over, they're quite padded and comfy - big enough for 2 piggies to cuddle up together on. I've put one on each level of the hutch, I'll get another for the fourth level when I get round to putting it in. Stella normally hoggs the top level, Alfie the bottom level, Sadie and Luna curl up together on the middle level. :))
 
@Adelle Please could you tell me where you got the absorbent core for your liners? Also, how much does it cost? Hope you don't mind me asking, but I want to make some liners soon, and keep wondering what would be the best thing to use.

Will send you a link when I'm home, they are incontinence sheets for beds and are medical quality x
 
I think i am addicted to making snuggle sacks... My girls certainly wont be cold this winter!

They have been snuggled up tonight in their first attempt hand stitched snuggies i made a while ago so i could figure out how to best put them together..

I feel like a bad mother as I'm sewing nice new snuggies in the room whilst my girls are behind me in those old practice ones!

Someone should make those! Its very chilly here in scotland now.. Its september so that means its effectively winter haha
 
Perhaps the next step in snugglies...oh, wait, aren't those called sleeping bags?

Made from warm, soft fleece would make them simply irresistible! :luv:

That is really impressive. Very cute pics of your guinea pigs snuggled up in their cosy sleeping bags!
 
I want to have a go at making snuggle sacks. Do you put an absorbant layer in them? I've seen a few people mention using wadding, would that be cotton wadding of polyester? I'm a bit confused!

No wadding in the snuggies as once fleece is wicked it draws moisture away and they wash and dry in no time, but i've just bought some wadding today to put into the cuddle cups (little round beds).. Its 100% polyester x
