Hello all
As some of you may know not only does my life exist around my piggies but it also revolves around my 15year old daughter Megan who has suffered from epilepsy since she was 7 months old

Today is Purple day which is a worldwide day for raising awareness about Epilepsy.

http://www.purpleday.org/

I an also founder of a support group called EPIC (Epilepsy In Children) which supports families who have a child with epilepsy in Coventry and Warwickshire. We meet during the school holidays in a place where the children can play and the parents can chat to each other for advice and friendship. We also hold christmas parties and day trips for the children and provide useful resources to support our families.

I am hoping you would like to help me raise some funds today and wear something purple for the day and donate £1.00 to EPIC.

If you want to take part you can donate via our paypal account which you can find on the home page of our website.

We appreciate any help that you can give us as EPIC survives purely on kind donations and fundraising.

xx

Bump! come on guys it all for a great cause. unfortunately epilepsy has a lot of stigma attached to it and it is not always easy to raise funds for the cause. However an interesting statistic is that epilepsy is the most common neurological illness after migrane and in Coventry and Warwickshire alone there are 800 children living with this horrible condition.

Epilepsy has had a massive impact on our lives as a family and we have lived with it now for 15 years. Megan, my daughter has to attend a special needs school as her prolonged seizure have also given her behavioral and learning difficulties.

I set up the EPIC support group as i was offered very little help and support when Megs was first diagnosed, it also helped with my decision to train as a paediatric nurse and i also hold a qualification in epilepsy. The parents of the group really value the help, support and friendship they get from meeting other members and we can only continue through events such as this.

We really do appreciate any help you can give and after all i am only asking for £1.00 donation even if you dont wear anything purple xx

Thank you so much i have just received it and sent you an email x

I don't have a penny to my name until I get paid but wanted to bump up the thread for you as it's a great cause :)
