Hi there, I have to boars that I rehomed a week ago 6 and 12 weeks old.

The lady I rehomed them from said they were ivermectin treated a week prior to me picking them up, but I'm noticing both of them are itching.

Is there anything I need to do or is this normal? Not itching all the time, but it's noticeable they're itching more..

Thanks x

You will need to have them seen by a vet to see if there are still mites present and to complete a course of treatment if necessary.

If they had mites at the time you got them, then giving one treatment wouldn’t have been enough. Mites are treated by a course of treatment at set intervals apart over several weeks.
The treatment only kills live mites, so by giving just one treatment then any eggs that were present at the time of treatment, would not have been killed, would hatch and then start the cycle again. This is why treating mites is done over several weeks so all life cycles are caught up by the full course.
