oooooo I know how bad you can feel I suffer with spondelothesis in my lower back when that gives me pain ugh it feels like i'm sitting on a golf ball, not too many months ago I couldn't walk the pain only allowed me to shuffle one foot in front of the other inches at a time it took me half hour to get to loo ( not really lol ) but not far off, i found heat helped me more then anything else< I also have a cut away cushion pad that helps, really feel for you ,

Oh what a pain - I've got sciatica and at the moment it hurts in my lower back. The only thing that relieves it really, besides the tablets is a nice lie down on the bed! ;)

Hugs

xx

i heard foam matress's are good for back pain. good idea to get someone to buy you one.. ;)

Sorry to hear this Emma, i'm lucky i only get back pain if i've been over exercising or doing too much gardening.
Take care love hugs and kisses :-* :-*

you should see an ostiopath or try to find a spiritual healer that can perform reiki

We spent 2 thousand on a waterbed ^-^ and it is scrummy but i get peeved off there is so much i use to do and i can't now just in case my back lays me up, the Piggy's really are the only exercises i get these days, but i like that :D.

Have you tried some gentle back exercises to strengthen the muscles? My mum's back often gives her grief and her doctor gave her a leaflet with a bunch of back exercises that can be done lying down and they helped her a lot.

i have back problems and have since i was little :( it sux! my mum gives me back masages in return for a foot masage lol but i make her shower first ;D ;D I also have short hamstrings so i have to stretch all the time so i can try touch my toes lol I'm hopeless... but doing stretches like that help my back, and also having a comfy bed... ;D

I start physio monday for my weak arm, cant see the point as its too weak to lift some days we shall see even the neuro said its a waste of time but he needs to offer it to me huh!

I haven't got any productive advice but just wanted to say look after yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

A simple remedy is a hot water bottle, but I expect you've tried that. I get really bad shoulder pain sometimes and I have it really hot to burn away the pain!

Have you tried heat pads?
I have a fractured bone right at the bottom of my back - its a 25yr old injury that STILL gets stiff and hurts! Moving round is the only thing that stops it getting too stiff... oh and I like the alcohol remedy too! >:D

I am at the moment waiting for the results of an MRI scan i have had, the doctor has a suspicion that it my be arthritis in my hip and may, MAY have to have my hip replaced, Which i am quiet ticked off about.

MRIs always make me feel trapped I hate them have had 3 last year and hope no more, mine showed up severe damage to bottom of my back I damaged the coccyxx when my 3rd son was born in 89 it snapped as he was born so quick and fast and weighed 9lb 8oz, I was paralized for 2 days, little still giving me hell now my son I'm on about :tickedoff: as well as my back :(

Do you know if your hospital has a Chronic Pain Clinic? They are run by consultant anaesthetists and offer many different treatments for Chronic Pain. You will need a GP referral. Ring your hospiatl and find out if there is one first. They offer steroid injections, TENS,oral painkillers, hydrotherapy, physio, acupuncture etc. The best thing is that you will be constantly monitored.

Have you tried going to a chiropracter? I'm not sure what I do, but everytime I go there I have a hip and my neck out, and I feel a million times better afterwards. Also, you could try heating pads and electric blankets, like was already said. Sorry you're in pain, I'm sending you lots of love :smitten: Get well soon!

The consultant has offered an epidural injection , but won't do it until he can check my spine is not squashing certain nerves, because when i had both my children the epidural only took one side and then proceded to paralyse me from the waist down for, Charlie was two days, Amy it was for half a day, which was nice but couldn't walk until the next day as it had weaken my leg.
I do have acupuncture which is bliss at the chiropractors, but the consultant said not to go there anymore due to the bone cracking.
I will look into the chronic pain clinic, it certainly hasn't been offered though :'(.
But i have to be careful not to over do it as sometimes when my back goes i loose control of my waterworks xx0 I can laugh about it now but it is scary when it happens.
