Hi, sorry about the amount of threads I make, I just don't wnat to be a bad piggie momrolleye
Anyway, I have two boars, Sid and Hnery and they are very good friends, from the same littler in fact!:a19: at the moment, i have them in a ferplast cage, which is about 3.5 feet long and 2 feet wide and I know that they really should be atleast 5ftx2ft but it's only temporary for two-three weeks... Also, i let them out of the cage for atleast two hours when. I come home from school, they have two hideys, two bowls, two water bottles, a hay rack each and I might squeeze in a second floor:) is this ok for now? They will be moved into a 5ftx3ft or something close to that as SOON as I can!

Also, at the moment, they are fighting for dominance but one (the bigger ine) seems to be smashing the other one, making the smaller one squeek 24/7, is it needy to seperate them? They aren't mad, I just feel bad:a19:

I would think that it is OK as a temporary solution, especially if you can give them some additional run time. Perhaps you can create some extra space by cable tying in a barbecue rack as a mezzanine shelf?

I guess as they are fighting they are really telling you they need a bigger cage...i would really try and gt a bigger cage ASAP....you can usually find cheap-ish cages on preloved ... gumtree...free ads...adtrader...any of those websites usually have cheap cages for sale.

I know money can be tight...believe me...but with piggies once they fall out for good they dont usually make up again. So i guess just keep a close eye...lots of floor time...at least 3-4 hours a day...the smaller the cage the more floor time they need.....especially boars they need loads of space as they can easily fall out. So just keep a close eye...lots of floor time. Good luck :-)

Ok, they don't seem to be "fighting" they're just mounting eachother but I will try as hard as I can to find extra space and lot's of floor time! I'll keep them out while I'm doing homework which take 2-4 hours depending on the day and I could try keeping the cage door open all day and have an area for them to play in available all day? i'll see what I can do without my parents going bonkers, or eith them going bonkers :)p

As long as they're not drawing blood it should settle eventually down but if it gets to the stage where one is getting wounded then they'll have to be separated.

Hey there :) I have a cobbled together solution as I am not sure whether my trio of boars are going to get on long term or not... so I have two Ferplast 100s joined together at the ends (they hop over the "bridge" with no problem) - I had to clip some wires but the side mesh of the cages can be cable tied to put them back together and used as two single cages again - and then I have one of the front doors removed and a metal play pen attached to the two cages, with puppy pads and fleece on the floor under the playpen. They hop around with no problems and I have boxes, tunnels etc in the play pen. Its not the prettiest solution or the most convieniant for me but at the moment it will do (and when I work out whether they will get on long term I can think about permanent accomodation for them.

I think the best solution for you would be to add some kind of permanent run attached to their cage - do you have a run for the garden that you could adapt for indoor use in the winter?
