I've found this three tier cage on Zooplus, www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/rodents/cages/guinea_pig_cages/120_cm_cages/137450
Does anyone have any experience with the ramps? We have a three tier outside hutch, where three of our five can manage the ramps, but our two youngest sisters never got the hang of them! They've been inside all winter, and we put them in the run when the weather is good, but now it's too hot! Would like to make their inside quarters as palatial as the outside, any comments gratefully received. Thanks so much.

I think it's suitable. Some people will say it's not because all the space is on different areas, but I think that's good because the guinea pigs can get away from each other if they want to. I've never had this cage, but my guinea pigs can use the ramps in their hutches with no problems. The boys learnt straight away but the girls took a week or two to figure it out. :)

Yes I have some cages with ramps, mine get on well with them. You can make the cages interesting, with differant area's. As the other person said they have space to "get away from others". Bunny.

I have this cage. My piggy was none too impressed with the ramps at first - especially the short ramps to get onto the boarded areas as they were quite steep and slippery. I stuck sandpaper onto the little ramps and carpeted the big ones (LOL). After a few weeks I was able to remove the carpet as he had gotten used to the ramps but I left the sandpaper on the little ramp although he is a bit bigger now and tends to jump onto the platforms often without using the ramp.

The difficulty I found with the cage, at first, was cleaning it through the openings at the front: a bit like trying to paper your hallway through your letter box. I have the 3 tier 120cm version and it is very difficult to take the trays down to clean them separately as they are so large so I leave it up to clean.

The bars on the cage are not as sturdy as some other brands of cage and they bend a bit on closing the doors.

However, I would still throughly recommend the cage as it is enormous but only takes up the floor space of one cage.

When I bought it, it said it had two of the plastic houses and food bowls but only came with one but they sent me a second one so check the description. It came very quickly.

Good luck.

I recently redesigned my C&C, but when me and my partner decided to keep our sow's babies and pair them up with mum and dad, we decided to look for an alternative (i know people will think i'm mad for giving up my C&C). The biggest indoor cage that i knew of was the Trixie 150, but the main problem was getting hold of a UK based shop that stocked them.

Add to this the price of a stand - and i was looking at at least a £170 bill per cage (i needed at least 3 to house all 3 pairings - eventually)

I looked for an alternative and came across the Liberta Retreat R6A. Priced at £114.99 and complete with stand - it was a bargain. The dimensions are:

# Height 93 cm or 37 inches
# Width 78 cm or 31 inches
# Length 154 cm or 61 inches
# Inside cage height 69 cm or 27 inches

I placed my order and received my cages within a day. Assembly was simple and the accessories were great (mine especially loved the little hidey house). Best of all was the way in which the trays are secured - they slide in and out of the cage - so cleaning is dead simple. Unlike the Ferplast cages whereby you either have to clean through the door openings or remove the whole cage part.

I recommend taking a serious look at it - i'm not sure though whether it would be big enough for 5 piggies?

Hi Sodapops
I just bought one of thoseLiberta cages this week.
I got mine form justcages (sister company of the one you used)
Haven't yet put it up
Like you it came the day after I bought it
Am going to try putting it together tonight (after Dr Who)

Hi catslovelycats,
Bit of advice when it comes to putting it together, In the large box will be two sets of long poles (keep these together wrapped up) - one set will be the long bottom side and the other set are for the top sides (they look identical). I made the mistake of un-wrapping everything in the box and got these 4 poles mixed up - only realised this when it came to putting the roof on (had tpo take the whole thing apart and start again).

Also before you fully secure the long top side poles put the roof section on - because you'll need to align the holes on the poles with the holes on the brackets attached to the roof - this is easier said than done.

Have fun building your cage :)

I was well pleased with my purchase and for the money it looks very impressive when built :))

I've got 5 piggies in the 2 storey version of this 120cm cage. They cope with the ramps well but for the main long ramp I did make sides for it and on both ramps I do have fleece which is joined onto my fleecy liners so they can get a grip.
I got it for 2 piggies not realising one was pregnant when I got her. Its now housing 5 but I think, whilst they seem happy enough and they get lots of out of cage play time, once I move house I will extend it or do C&C. The one you are looking at though has an extra tier which, if Id known one of mine was pregnant when I got her, I might have preferred.
The main issue I had was all the sharp edges on the one I got (maybe a defective one or maybe they are all like that ?) - my arms were shredded cleaning it out but Ive filed them now and its much better.
I did also put a few cable ties on the corners of the cage as the bars were bulging a bit but that was easy enough.
