Mostly right yes, but they can be kept indoors as many people do. If you are (hopefully) getting your guineas from a rescue, they will want to know what indoor provision you will be making for them over the winter months. x
 
It's best to keep them inside from Octobery time uptill around April/May when the chance of frost has gone, piggies don't like 0c or below temperature.
 
I assume you mean bring them in for the winter? You can't just bring them in overnight in winter as this is particularly bad for them. They can't stand the fluctuations in temperature.

My guinea pigs live outside in their hutch which is housed in the shed. However when it's a cold night (like tonight) i bring them inside. :{ They sleep in two large boxes which are joined together by a willow tube. :)
