I bought this hutch for my guinea pig...

Is it suitable for him? Obviously I will buy a hutch hugger to make it warmer for the winter, but is it acceptable for Buster to live in through the summer?
I have already bought it, but I have not yet put it together due to lack of time, but I have tomorrow all day to build it,(hopefully with some help from my other half!) but if it isn't good enough, then I suppose I could take it back and choose a different one.

I've also bought him new toys, and some treats to help win him over!

What size is the hutch part? It should be a minimum of 120cm x 60cm (someone correct me if I'm wrong as I'm having a blank moment). It's great to have the run underneath but you lose some space due to the ramp and need to remember that the guinea pigs can only use the enclosed space in poor weather. I tend to think go for the biggest you can afford as it will only cost more to upgrade later on.

:)

That looks quite big from the photo, but do you know what size it is. The run will add extra space which is great. The bit under the hutch will probably stay pretty dry even when it rains. My pigs use their underrun in all weather except very windy :)

I had a look at that hutch myself and if I remember rightly, it is 4ft wide or a little more. 2 guinea pigs would be fine in there :) It is nice and well built as well. In my local range, they actually sell the hutch covers in store and they aren't to expensive either. Less than £20 I think.
