If you mean as flooring for the base of the cage, then I wouldn't think this would work as jute would not wick the pee away and it's not machine washable. An absorbent bedding like eg wood shavings on top of newspaper or double thickness fleece blankets with a layer of absorbent wadding inside laid on top of newspaper or puppy pads work best. The shavings you just refresh and replace once wet and the fleece you can wash. What else do you use in your piggie's enclosure?

with both above - it won’t wick properly and can’t be washed and it could be chewed
