Ive just noticed something about Jamie that I think is a bit odd, but you guys might tell me its normal!

Watching the boys running around having fun in my bedroom while I clean down their cage, and noticed this -

Jamie will stop still for a few minutes, do a pile of pooh....then carry on running around playing. He doesnt drop around the room like Gino does, he does a neat little pile of pellets!

Ive never heard of pigs doing that before, so is it normal?:laluot_13:

You have a neat boy! :))

Yes some do! My Princess Daisy MVP (Most Valuable Pet according to OH since her op lol) is virtually litter trained. She does this voluntarily I hasten to add rolleyes

Whilst sectioned off after her op I put in a corner tray with Carefresh in & straight away she tried to hop into it even with her gammy leg & sat in there, did a wee, then some poops. The next morning I found only 3 poops on the fleece, no wee at all & a poop mountain in the corner of her litter tray! When she was in the vets in her basket she did one poo & no wees until she got into her tray back home. :)

awwww bless her what a little sweetheart!xoxo

Well if all it is is neatness, then how do I train Gino to do the same thing lol!?:(|)

Sadly my other two drop & run lol!

Well it sounds like Jamie may use a tray, have you got a litter tray or corner tray for them? Pop some newspaper in it or Carefresh etc then put their hay rack above & they should eat & poop together :) I find it does stop the rest of the cage smelling too quick, & replace the paper twice a day sometimes more. If it has Carefresh or something in you may get away with once a day or so. I don't wash the litter trays every day I think they smell where they've "been" already so that helps train them a bit too.

There's no hope for my other two they just poop where they sleep usually lol ;)

It may not last, I seem to remember Rocket doing neat little piles of poo when he was little. Now he spreads his giant brown bananas everywhere! :(|)

lol! Giant brown bananas! :)):))

He does poop a lot in the hay tray and I have thought about getting them a corner litter tray, but didnt think they would use it. Might give it a go. x
