Threepigs

Hi,

I hope someone can help. We got our baby pigs about three weeks ago and though they are getting used to being handled, they still scuttle away when we go near their cage. Is this normal?

many thanks

very normal, in fact I'd say they're not 100% healthy if the don't respond in this way!

Really? That's a bit sad, it makes me feel they don't like us much!

Thanks for replying.

stargrrlclaire - is this just the case in baby gps, or do adults behave like this too?

Pigs are naturally frightened creatures, but give them time aas they get older and they are treated with respect by their owners they become tamer. I've a mix of pigs who like to be picked up and some who don't. :)

It is totally normal for your pigs to be scared if you think about it to them you could be a big giant trying 2 eat them and what they are trying to protect themselfs.
Just handle them everyday and sometimes give them treats and you said they are babies so they don't really understand when they get older they will understand your not the big scary thing anymore but their owner the one that loves them and cares for them.
Hope this helps.
Anna x
