My 3 boys have gone outside in their pen today and so far all possum has done is hump the other two!
They are not impressed and keep squeaking at him but he won't stop,
Is this normal?will they settle down or will this happen every time they go outside?
Spike seems to be the boss with possum next and yogi doesn't really care lol
Are they arguing over dominance or is it just over excitement?
My other pairs don't do this they just eat the grass.

It’s a new territory for them, and new territories set off dominance displays/disputes.

If it is a play for possum to overtake spike as the leader and if spike doesn’t like it, that is when problems will occur, particularly given three boys together is usually a very tricky combination to get to work.

Don’t forget, the squeaking can be submission which is a good thing. If they don’t submit, then you’ve got problems,

Your pairs are likely more settled in their hierarchy and don’t feel the need to enforce dominance so much.

Possum humps spike who then squeaks loudly at him but he never tries to fight back he just runs away,so maybe he is submitting to possum who I think will take over as top pig, they aren't trying to fight with each other so that's good.

They have settled down now,it could just be excitement about being outside eating grass, because they don't behave like that inside...I will keep an eye on them all the same

I’m glad they’ve calmed down! Any new area sets this kind of thing off, so hopefully it was something and nothing! I hope they enjoy their outside time! Mine are currently playing outside too!
