i set up a camera to record cocoa while I did some for about forty minutes., I just wanted to know what he does. He seemed to run around a bit, then sit down for a while, then run more, but sit down again. When he sat he didn't really move but he wasn't hunched up. Is that normal? By the way it was about six o'clock at night. I might be paranoid, but is he lethargic? I'm probably just paranoid.

I think it's normal. I have two piggies and they do the same thing. They have random moments in the morning or at night when they run like crazy for a few minutes but then the rest of the day they're just pasing around or on their bellies. I take them out for floor time and that's when they are more active and play together, but sometimes they just lay together and cuddle.

Okay, thank you. Cocoa is also a lot more active when he's having floor time, too. I'm just really paranoid because cocoas buddy, Maxy, just passed away :( I'm pretty sure it was a stroke, but I'm keeping tabs just in case it was contagious.

I'm so sorry to hear that! I totally understand why you're worried. I would be too. I hope that evevry thing is well with cocoa, he sounds fine to me but maybe take him to a vet just for a check up? I'm also pretty new to guinea pigs.

That is what they do. My piggies run around on the floor when I'm changing their cage...they'll run around a lot at first and then just find somewhere to hide and poop. I'm sorry to hear about Maxy, I expect Cocoa is missing his buddy, they do grieve too.

It is normal. Cocoa was doing what we call zoomies. ;)

I am going to take him soon, yeah. Thanks for the tips!

Okay, good. Cocoa is missing him, but he's getting over it. At first he was pretty upset, but now he's going back to his normal self.

It is always a relief. I hope that you can find him a new mate or some interesting piggy neighbours for ongoing stimulation
