Is this normal behaviour for a 6 year old piggy?

Edward turns 6 very soon and I have noticed that he is sleeping a lot and letting me stroke him without running away. Is this normal behaviour for a 6 year old piggy or should I be worried? It’s been several years since I’ve had a senior pig so I can’t really remember

Hi!
This is perfectly normal. My oldies mostly sleep more and more deeply and wake up to eat...

My six year old girl noticeably sleeps a lot more than she used to and I often make her jump when I come into the room or do stuff around her cage. She has never been a stroke-able pig but does now let me stroke her, sometimes!

Older pigs do sleep more deeply. It always stresses me and the kids out, I'm not sure how many times we've accidently woken up an older pig to make sure they're okay!

Mine have mellowed a great deal. Jenny still initially objects to the thought of handling but Timmy is actively seeking it out. He stood in his back legs and wheeked at me until I stroked him the other day. He's also taken to just standing up at the cage looking sad until he gets attention. They both sleep lots too. I hold my breath in the morning as they don't always appear to say hello and so I move the hidey thinking they are gone...

Holly is 5 and sleeps a lot more than she used to. It’s a bit of a change as she was always like a periscope whenever there was any hint of movement any where near the piggy room she was up and about having a look. Nowadays, I can walk in there, start moving things around and even then sometimes she doesn’t wake up. She seems to sleep longer and more deeply. I think it’s just part of the ageing process.
