I got my pigs yesterday, and they're 9.5 weeks. After reading through the feeding guide, I gave them this much this morning. I put the veg in with the nuggets, but it looks like they drag them out the bowls to eat (each has its' own bowl). Is the veg the correct amount and should I give once a day or more than that?

I also bought meadow hay from B&M. They seem to like it but I'm worried as some of the stalks are quite thick. Does anyone else give their pigs this particular hay? They don't seem to have a problem with it anyway.

@PiggyOwner when you give them veg do you take out the nuggets? They seem slow to eat the nuggets so I don't know what to do in that respect. Seems I've been short changing them veg wise anyway as I just realised that plate is HALF a portion!
 
I feed veg and pellets at the same time.

I also use B&M hay. The small bags, with flowers, seem to go down well with my 2.

You could try hay cakes too, they sell those in B&M :)

@*kate* do you put the veg in the bowl with the nuggets or just on the floor/hay?

In any case I need to up the amount!

I give veg in a different bowl - or just scatter the veg around the hutch .

I only give a small amount of pellets and leave a bowl of pellets in their hutch 24/7
 
I'm the same as PiggyOwner.

I put a bowl of nuggets for each piggy in their enclosure, which I top up once a day, then I have a separate bowl of veggies which I feed once a day, but I also sprinkle veg around on top of hay piles - so to encourage foraging (natural to piggies).

I feed a mixture of hay twice a day, the greener the hay the better. I love sweet smelling hay.
 
Thank you all. I'm just to think if once or twice daily works better for me...i think i need to start a meal plan for them
As for the pellets, do you throw away any that are uneaten? There's some left over this morning. Yesterday there was very little left.
Going to give them lunch then i need to do ours.
