I have recently added a 1 year old sow, Edie to my other 2 sows, Marmalade (1) and Amber (6 months old)
Marmalade and Edie used to live together at their old owners house until 2 months ago when I got Marmalade, and they've been seperate until I brought Edie home yesterday, so they must have got on at some point, but they lived in a big group of sows at their old home. When I got Edie home yesterday I introduced them in a run that none of the guinea-pigs saw as their territory. Marmalade was chewing Edie's hair (she's a sheltie) which I read on here was barbering. Marmalade started chasing Edie and tonight Edie's started chasing Marmalade and Amber. Is this dominance? How long do you think it will take to sort it out? They are fine in their run but not in their hutch, I think it might be a bit small so I'm moving them into a larger hutch and eventually in a few months I will move them into a 6ft run that me and my Dad are going to make for them. I've read the sow behaviour thread here but I just wanted some advice on if there is anything else I can do?

As long as no one is getting hurt I would leave them to it, the more they are seperated or interfered with the less likely they will settle. The increase in space will be lovely for them!

I introduced Minx to Flumpet and Delilah a little while ago. It took a good couple of weeks for the chasing and running away to really settle down. No-one was getting hurt but it didn't really stop until they'd all been in season (that might be a co-incidence). :)
