I'm looking to get my boar bernie neutered and house him with my sow dot. If bonding goes well. They seem to love rubbing noses through the bars to eachother. They are housed seperatly but touching cages. I want to know peoples thoughts on this cage. Its not that big but it is 2 story. I would make the ramp into a tunnel with wood and copy the size of the crap one it comes with. Its just if one doesnt use the ramp it will be a cramped cage.

It looks smaller in the picture. And i will be taking the crappy plastic hidey ledge out and adding my own safer house in.

It’s really hard to see from the pic but it looks small. What are it’s measurements? It’s the single level of space which is the one you need to go by - any upstairs levels don’t really count.

You can get much bigger cages (single level but more useful floor space, for half the price online at places like Zooplus or even eBay and Amazon.

I know it definitly looks on the small side. C and c is the way to go

I know its a bit like putting them in a cage then putting them in another. I think I'm going to build my own. Bigger cage. Then at christmas when i stay at the m.i.l's il keep the cages i have for that

Anyway il get bernie neutered first then think about the cage in his 6 week wait to be paired

I'm in a right mess trust me. My sow peed blood again last night after coming off antibiotics. We already had an xray done about a month ago, she has a lump growing in her bladder and the vet doesnt want to risk operating. Its not likely she will make it through because the growth is high up. So i have a vet appointment monday to see what else i can do. So pairing a sick sow witj my boar might not be a good thing at the moment. Its all a mess. And i still need to get bernie neutered if i want to pair

Oh no sorry to hear that :(
My boy was peeing blood last week and turned out to be bladder stone, he’s in recovery now.
Best thing is to concentrate on your girl right now x

I feel like I'm being a bad owner. I am really good with their diets and getting them to the vets asap. I'm good at nursing sick pigs from my past exeperiences but. I keep 2 pigs each alone. But they do wheek to eachother through the cages. I just have to sort something out. But if dot my sow has cancer i dont want to pair then have one greaving pig . I think the best i can do in this situation is neuter bernie and let them have floor time together. I have tried them quickly before and they get on well. But I'm not risking having a litter of pigs carried by a sick mother

I have the 120cm version of that cage (I believe the one in the photo is the 100cm version). I love my cage and so do my piggies. I currently have my neutered boar and sow in there. If you look on amazon or eBay for ferplast double 120 cage, it should come up with it.

I have placed the ramp on a wooden block to make it less steep, taken the silly hide out and they have a fleece ramp tunnel over the ramp.

Thanks il check it out.

I'd love a 160 cage for mine but due to lack of space, that's why I have the cage I have as it fits in the space I have available
thats cool. If i linked the 2 i have at the moment i would have a huge cage. But a bit narrow
