I’m bonding my piggies and they seem to get along alright. It’s only been a couple hours since they’ve lived in the same cage and I was wondering if these behaviors were normal.

they are making that annoyed squeak when the other one gets close. They also will put their heads up high and fluff up the back of their neck, sometimes chattering or opening their mouths but usually not. This doesn’t end in a full on fight but sometimes they do some circles and chatter.

should I be concerned or is this normal dominance asserting behavior?

also to add: they will lay down around each other and I even caught them laying right next to each other. It looks like they’ve been friends forever, but then they’ll do the thingsI described above. Sorry for the long post

I think they may be trying to figure out the hierarchy. When I was bonding my piggies they chattered at each other, and did circles. If they start being physical towards each other (biting, drawing blood etc) you may need to separate them. Don't count on me though, I have only owned piggies for a couple of years.
