Hi everyone,
I currently have my 4 guinea pigs in a C&C cage, 2 adult guinea pigs and two 'baby' guinea pigs I took on a few months ago (they obviously aren't babies anymore but they're so small compared to my two they're still babies to me) Since the new additions are growing I want to put in a second level for them, I already expanded the cage as much as I could before I introduced the babies but would still like to give them a bit of extra space! I did some research online about ramps and saw some people had used cat scratching boards as ramps, so I went on eBay and bought one but I just want to check it is 100% safe to put in before I do it! It looks sturdy and will be easy to attach, the material smelled kind of weird but I guess that could be normal and me just worrying too much as usual.

Here is a link to the scratching board I purchased: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290730818...7&_trkparms=gh1g=I290730818109.N19.S2.M-13075

Please let me know if you think this will be suitable, and if not possibly suggest other things to use as a ramp?

Thanks :)

I have seen people using these before but I'd be nervous of the fact it doesn't have any sides. I made my ramps out of correx if you have any spare? Otherwise I've also seen people using guttering tubes lined with carpet.

I know most people use a ramp like that and just attach sides either wood or plastic or you can maybe have a tunnel going up as piggies don't like being able to see the floor as they climb the ramp, so feel more secure with sides or a tunnel covering it.

Am going to go and have a look at it now with my dad, may see if he can help me make one out of the grids and correx just to be on the safe side :) I'm not sure if my fattest piggie Zoonie will even fit on the cat scratching board as it isn't very wide!

Again looks good...but could do with having a ramp really with sides. Maybe you could buy it and add sides...or even make your own DIY ramp with sides, or ask someone DIY savvy?

Had a go at making one by bending the grids but they just snapped, would prefer to make one myself rather than buy one but am absolutely awful with DIY lol

There are wooden replacement ramps for c&c cages on eBay and tunnel ramps.Didn't seen that dear to me and wooden one had sides
