I'm going to bond my two boys hopefully by Christmas. I am on a tight budget and have quite limited space, because the guinea pigs will be moving into my bunny shed. I'm going to have the cage raised up on a table so the bunnies cannot come into contact with them - aka why I can't give them the whole shed. I have tried C&C cages before, and they didn't work out very well for me. We have a dog and two naughty younger family members, who vandalised the cage within minutes . So I am thinking of using our Ferplast 120cm cage, which is strong, secure and has a roof to stop anything getting in. They already have a nice spacious run which they spend a good majority of the day - granted the weather stays dry. But if the weather isn't nice I can still take them inside and let them have floortime for a few hours, so they get plenty of exercise daily. Is this a good size for two boars?

A 120 really is the absolute minimum that a pair of boars should be housed in, especially newly bonded. It will suffice once/if they are happily settled with one another. But I'd suggest that you bond them in a large area that won't be too in the way and leave them there until you are 120% sure they get along, before introducing them to the cage. Obviously getting out into the run as much as possible would help. And the 120's are just big enough to get a couple of hides in so that they have a spot each to go if feeling antisocial. It may be worth seeing if you can build a decent 2nd level into it as well.

Good luck for the bonding :)

Thank you :) Something I've seen many people do is connect another cage to the one they have, this gives them much more room to run about and get away from each other. It'd also work out brilliantly for me because of it's 'L' shape and it will fit easily in the shed! :yahoo:

I agree with @zombieprincess, for bonding you need a lot more space. I had my two new boys in a ferplast 120 whilst I made them a table for their C&C and they were having arguments, since going into their 2x5 C&C cage they have been saints as they have the space to get away from each other if they have a disagreement.

If you can extend it with another cage all the better :)

you can get a feraplast 140 on line from pets at home, which is a competitve price.liberta 150 cm from pet planet is a good cage, ive got this for two boys.it has a messane which they love.it really depends on your budget, but the more space the better and more likely your boys will get on.goodluck.:)
