I don't spot clean as every 2 days I take up the wood bedding, newspaper and 4 puppy pads and change the who,e lot. I like doing it this way as I can do it corner by corner and the piggys stay in their enclosure.

I don't always spot clean, but that's because my boy lives outside and there's horrible weather! :( (Iknow piggies should live indoors, and I'm working on it so yeah)
I just clean out more often! :D

13 of my piggies live outside with lots of covers and protection. don't beat yourself up over them being outside. that's where they live in the wild and so long as you care for them properly they will be fine. there is no set rule stating that they should be inside - so please try not to worry about it. you are doing nothing wrong:)

I don't have piggies now, but when I did, I had them in two large cages in the living room. I didn't spot clean ever, but always cleaned both cages out fully every two days.

Depends on the bedding I think. If you have fleece and don't spot clean it will literally be a poop pile in a day.....!

I try to spot clean with my fleece...but there is just so much it is hard to keep on top of it. And I find it hard to use a dustpan and brush on fleece without the fleece getting dragged around. I only changed it little over 24 hours ago and it is already everywhere!

Can I ask does fleece hold the piggys wee or do you get just a very wet fleece that needs changing every day?

I dustpan and brush in the morning and change fleeces every third day. My boys poop in their cuddle cup, hay rack and one corner of the cage only so it's pretty easy to just sweep it up!

Hi fleece is designed to allow wee to travel through it and stay dry. What you have is an absorbent layer under the fleece, I have incontinence bed sheets. The pigs wee on the fleece and as fleece material can not hold any liquid it is drawn through the fleece to the Ayer underneath. Is means the pigs are always in a dry surface, the fleece.

It depends what bedding I'm using. I'm using that foam matting ATM so I poop Hoover a couple of times a day. Last weekminhad puppy pads and newspaper underneath, this week I'm using aubiose underneath.

I sweep all the poos up twice/three times a day and change the fleece every 4-5 days. Now they have a hay area which is lined with a puppy pad and newspaper over top, that is the area they generally pee so the fleece stays a lot drier.

I use a handheld vacuum daily and move houses around to help with absorbency. Mine are one foam matting with incontinence bed sheets underneath, and vet bed squares under the houses. I do a complete clean out every 3-4 days. I have four pigs in a c&c.

Hey, do you think some cheap Asda or Tesco hand vaccume will be strong enough to pick up poops without messing up the fleece?

Ah I see... Is that any fleece or a specific fleece designed for pets, like vet bed

Any fleece whichis100% polyester. You have to wash it two or three times using cheap washing powder!
