Our vet gave us some, and I've just bought some more, but in googling how to administer (keeps getting stuck in the syringe then splurging everywhere), I came across an article on a vet's website that said that Recovery was not good for guineas, only Recovery Plus. Does anyone know? Thank you. I could really do with not having to buy a box of the Recovery plus as I need to use some tomorrow and then won't be able to return what I've already bought, and it's quite ££

There are a few options to choose from here. We recommend that the formula you are using has long length fiber in it to help stimulate the gut. These formulas are likely to work better at getting the gut moving. It is also important to make sure they have vitamin C for guinea pigs. We recommend Oxbow Critical Care for Herbivores or Supreme Recovery Plus. (Note: the normal Supreme Recovery and not the plus version is not suitable for guinea pigs and does not have long length fiber in it).

A while ago my vet told me that Recovery Plus is better for guinea pigs as it has added vitamin C. It's easiest to give in a 1ml syringe rather than the feeding syringe in the box. Here is our guide to syringe feeding
