Is peppermint oil a problem for piggies?

I have a wild mouse visiting my guinea pig cage which has 3 floors but stands up on a table about 40cm from ground.
I have been placing sprigs of mint behind their hay trays to deter it from its hiding places. I now have 100% peppermint oil which I am spraying around the house. Is it safe to drip/spray this around the floor beneath their cage? Thanks

I would be worried about the strong smell. All essential oils have a very concentrated scent, and piggies have incredibly sensitive noses - if it smells strong to us it might be unbearable for them!
