So I adopted two bonded boys this last weekend, they’ve been very quiet since they arrived, but as soon as veggie time arrived ive had wheeks and them climbing the bars of their enclosure to get to me. Today I’ve returned home and they none stop humping, chasing each other and loud squeals coming from one or the other. They didn’t even stop for veggies when I entered the room!

I've also noticed this mark on Lincoln’s bottom lip, he’s been doing a lot of the humping, usually mounting Romans face, but Roman has mounted or attempted to, back.

How old are they?
How long had they been together before coming to you?

Do be aware that a change in environment will cause them to reestablish their relationship so seeing a spike in dominance behaviours in the early weeks is to be expected. If they want to be together and have a functioning hierarchy, then things will settle down.

They’re about a year old. As far as I know they’ve been together all their lives, they lived with a lady who couldn’t look after them anymore, so they returned them to the rescue.

I was presuming they’d have to re-establish the relationship, I just wasn’t expecting it to be so none stop.

Just walked in to blood on Romans nose 🙈, think I’m going to have to separate them for the night. I have to be up early for work and don’t want to come home to two injured piggles.

I hope they sort themselves out soon. It’s sad if they don’t want to live together anymore. Naughty boars.

I’m going with as piggie&buns said and hoping it’s a misplaced swipe. Both boys tiny cuts/bumps have healed up, and there’s just been normal dominant behaviour since. Friday night it was really non stop, but they’re allowing each other to have space today, and they’ve been happily cuddled up together this afternoon without so much as a rumble.
