I had 3 pigs got rid of one as it kept fighting with the others the shop told me I had 3 boys but my friend said the one I gave to her was actually a girl. So checking on the other two I still have but cannot tell at all.

Hi and welcome

Could you please pry the slit apart so we can also see inside just for added safety? I would like to see at least 3 different gender specific markers before committing, as sexing should never be a guessing game. The inside of the slit is a lot more gender differentiated than the outside. Piggies with black or mottled skin be more difficult to sex.
Illustrated Sexing Guide

You can also do a hands-on examination by feeling the area just above the button on the belly side. A boar has got a hard penis ridge just under the skin there, which is quite distinctive It feels a bit like a hard rice corn. Sows are all soft there. This picture shows you where to feel for the presence or absence of a penis shaft.
It is one of the best sexing places but the one we can sadly not do for you.

Please be aware that if your friend has got a sow, she will be most likely already be pregnant. Your friend is welcome to join our forum, provided she is over 18. We have got an unplanned pregnancies and surprise babies corner for ongoing support during the whole time and lots of helpful practical advice and information, including on your rights as a customer.

I wonder whether you also need a post a picture of your other piggy so wiebke can assist with ensuring they are both the same sex.

This is my other one. So I bought 3 was told they were all boys but fighting started so they have been kept apart now for a couple of months so it would of had babies already I was keeping them in a hutch separated with two in the bottom and the other in the top. Then i gave it to a friend whos had recently died. the two I now have are this picture which I am pretty sure is a girl and the photo i uploaded before. Will try to get a better picture of the other one

Three boys would fight - you can’t keep three boys together so unfortunately the shop gave you terrible advice when selling them to you.

As per Wiebke’s advice you need to post pictures with the slit held open so we can see inside.
The slit in boars goes straight down; the slit in sows has a fleshy seal inside.

Hi

Thank you. We would like to see how the slit of your white/dark boy looks on the inside to be absolutely sure; especially since there are serious doubts about the shop staff's ability to sex piggies properly. This means we have to make extra sure within our limits of remote access only.

The light one is clearly a boy because you can see the swelling of the descending testicles around the genitalia and he has the classic i constellation with a round button sitting on top of a long straight slit. He must be about 4 months of age? That is when the teenage hormones start hitting.

Sadly most baby boar trios don't make it through teenage; some don't even settle in their new home if there is a dominance/personality clash. :(
