Okay so, I had adopted 2, roughly 4 year old boars a few weeks back, from a not-so-nice home and they both seemed fairly normal and then one of my boars passed away, now, my other boar wont do anything, he's eating and drinking properly but he isn't making any noises at all and he has started not letting me touch him and diving for his hidey house, could someone please tell me if he's okay? I'm extremely worried!

He is probably feeling very lonely and upset without his friend. I'm not suggesting that you aren't giving him enough attention but he is very likely missing the company of his own kind.

Maybe you should consider getting him a new friend? If you think he is unwell a vet check might be worthwhile. Just to put your mind at ease.

Thanks Amy,
I've been giving him double lap time and floor time latley and put extra toys in his cage, hopefully that should perk him up.

I agree that, now he's over the initial grief, he's feeling lonely and nervous without his friend to give him confidence.

I would suggest looking into a rescue that will allow you to take your boy boar dating so he can find a new friend.

Here's our list of approved rescues so you can see if there's one near you

Thanks for posting that. I wanted to but couldn't find the link for the life of me. Will bookmark that page!
