Is it ok for them to stay in their run?

Hi

As some of you may have read on my other posts, Mabelle turned out to be a boy, he's had his op and currently him and Sasha are seperated.

We have this cage and stand;
Rabbit, Guinea Pig And Mammal Cage 120 (120cm x 62cm x 52cm)

but currently they are living like this, side by side in a run seperated down the middle (sorry about the darkness!);

We've got them like this because when one was in the run and the other in the cage, they couldn't see each and were miserable.

When they can go back in with each other, if the run was joined together, it would be 160cm x 80cm, so bigger than the cage. I'm tempted to leave them in the run.

But then I think, a cage looks so much neater than the run so makes the lounge look tidier.

I don't know what to do 8... When they run about in the cage it just seems so small, like they don't get a good run up. But this is the recommended size (I think?) although I do know the more space the better.

I am undecided.

reminds me of c&c cages

That's what I thought! With the sides being high (60cm) I was thinking I could put an extra level in without the fear of them escaping, which is my main concern with C&C.

Just a little annoying because the cage cost a lot and the run didn't and I could have just bought the run!

If I were to have it as a permanent thing, I'd have to figure out a better base, currently it is carpet rugs, towels, fleece, which works fine, but perhaps correx would be better.

I just think that perhaps when people come round, they might think I couldn't afford/be bothered to buy a cage.

The run is very cool, I love it!

No way do you look like you are penny pinching, look at all their lovely things in there. You could use correx if you want and add a 2nd storey too. I have C&C enclosed 3 storey and it does give lots more room but honestly it's great as it is. I love it.
