Is it normal to sniff bums?

Is it normal for guinea pigs sniff each others bums then get annoued for each other doing so? Its very weird to watch, i hope its ok

Perfectly normal, like dogs, it's their way of getting a "status update ". I guess sometimes the sniffee isn't in the mood and reacts to being sniffed

it is very normal behaviour. Guinea pigs have a much stronger sense of smell and react very much to pheromones; sniffing the bum gives them a status update on where sows are in the estrus cycle (especially when they are coming to a season) as well as a health update. Scent marking and bum sniffing is their way of keeping up with the cavy news.
