Is it just my neutered boys or.....

does anyone else find that theirs are totally bossed about by the girls? I only have two neutered males. Rory was already neutered when I got him and Zach was neutered a few months ago after his cagemate died.

Rory lives with four girls, and he weighs less than any of them. When food is put into the cage he stands back and lets them eat first. He only weighs about 850g, and has been that weight ever since we got him a few years ago. Zach was a larger piggie, weighing about 1.2 kilos, but since being neutered and living with the girls is barely over a kilo. He also stands back and lets the girls grab the food first and when he does get any one of the girls will go and take it out of his mouth. I have now started taking him out to feed him away from them because they are so pushy and bossy.

Llewelyn can stand up for himself - but then he is a hardy survivor from a run shared with gps, rabbits AND chickens...

He makes sure that he gets his fair share, but never more than that! However, he HATES it when Dizzy picks his morsel in one of her snitty moods, and has never lost his habit of running away with his "booty".

Out of a lot of three prospective mates, she chose him, and they have turned out ot be well matched.

I'll be looking forward how he fares when I hopefully get two new girls next week and try to merge them once they're settled.

I have Jeremy and Sally living together. Jeremy weighs 964g, Sall weighs 1162g, and she rules! Jeremy is quite a slow eater, so I always make sure he has plenty. Definitely girls are the boss in our house xx

PS: Llewleyn is a pudgy, but steady 1200g since his last growth spurt, and Dizzy about 900-950g. So he has body mass on his side!

I would never have thought Zach would turn into such a gentleman. When Buster was alive they used to constantly playfight and they were my tough little guys! Zach has become so considerate and the three he lives with are such little madams. He seems to love being with them though! I was horrified to watch the way they crowd around him and even take the food out of his mouth! Who would have ever thought he would become so placid.

Albie was more genteel tho' he did weigh more than Maddie, Howie was a complete pushover & his ladies got away with murder. Toddie on the other hand is NOT a gent - if he wants to eat he does & if Lyric & Lark are in his way he barges them out the way with his chin swinging & brrring; he stands for no nonsense, **** why his weights going back up - he was 1490g at his last weigh-in |) |)
