Is gravel ok?

I was wondering if their was at all a problem with putting guinea pigs on gravel? These are my sisters girls. Mummy at the back and her two babies. I only ask as shes getting a bit of stick on a fb guinea pig page. I wanted to make sure it’s safe for the pigs. Thanks in advance

I wouldn't have thought it would be good for them at all. Too harsh on their feet potentially causing sores or even cuts. Doesn't absorb urine so it will sit there and keep them wet. Then there's the factor if they pick it up in their mouths and the potential damage it could cause to teeth etc
