Is eating vetbed harmful?

I just got vet bed for my dogs, and I got twice as much as I needed so the piggies could have the rest. They seem to love it, but Lola and Sukie were trying to eat it as if it was grass! I'm not sure if they got any off, I tried to pull some off and only a tiny bit would come out, but they could have nibbled it off. Would it be harmful to them, if they ate just a little? Should I take it away from them or leave it?

They might have been eating it because they ran out of hay yesterday, but I got more and gave it to them then

i'd like to know the answer to this to my piglets have taken trying to eat the carpet and have managed to make a hole in it :{ OH not impressed i think its funny i have another piggy that trys to eat the towels to.
