Hi, I'm building a custom cage for my pigs, would 250cmx50cm be big enough? Unfortunately I can't go any wider than 50cm where the cage will be, but I was hoping the length would make up for it?

It comes to 13 sq ft so would be considered enough square footage for three sows.
However, going longer doesn’t necessarily make up for width. 50cm might just be ok but it is less than we would advise. Also remembering that 50cm external measurements usually means less than 50cm internally and then it’s getting a bit tight.

Thanks so much for the response. I've had a shuffle round and could probably make it 60 cm wide? I know it's not much different but do you think that would be better? They are in a 5x2 c&c at the moment but look quite cramped together.

Yes absolutely making it 60cm would be better.
The recommended cage size for three sows is 180x60cm.

A 5x2 c&c should measure around 180x70cm if you are using standard (35cm) grids.
