Is this normal introduction behavior? Whenever Luna gets hay, Peppa tries to burrow under her or take it away or something… we are have them in a neutral environment and everything for the intro but I’ve never done this before and I’m nervous!

It’s quite normal for piggies to take food from each other and to be seeking comfort from each other.

It would help if you could give us a bit more background information.

How old are they?
How long have they been on neutral territory?

I don’t know how old they are. Maybe 6 months. I rescued them from a pet store where they were not being taken care of. They have been in the playpen for about an hour now and are snow just laying in the hay snuggled Up next to each other

Snuggling up together sounds positive. Keep them in the bonding pen for a few hours so they can get through the initial stages of dominance and then you can move them to their cage together.

As they are pet store piggies, have you checked they are definitely both the same sex?

I know for sure one is a girl this is the one that I am unsure about. I was told at the pet store that she was a girl but the more I look the more I’m not sure

Please do feel for a penis ridge and look inside the slit. A boar slit goes straight down, a sow slit has a fleshy seal just inside. Compare this one in the picture to the other one you know is female - does it look different?

It may help if you post pictures of both piggies genitals.

Sexing needs to be a hands on thing, and its never safe for us to sex a piggy via a picture as we cannot see inside the slit in this picture nor can we feel for a penis ridge, I do have my thoughts and I would not be too certain this is female but only you can do the physical checks
