I have recently rehomed a skinny pig boar. I plan on having him neutered so he can move in with my long haired bonded girls. Is this possible? And if so how should i go about it? The girl i rehomed him from said hes not a piggie pig but obviously i dont know this for sure. I'm having a new c&c delivered on friday that will be big enough for all 3. TIA

Yes, it is absolutely possible to neuter a skinny; as always with neutering, the key is finding either a general vet with lots of experience in piggy neutering or an exotics vet with plenty of practice in small furries operations in order to minimise the risk especially of post-op complications. The faster metabolism needs to be taken into account re. medication, of course.
We have mixed groups/pairing on here. @helen105281

Please be aware that girls can swipe at a boar with their hind legs as well as nip, so he is much more likely to end up with skin scratches and shallow bits without the protection of the coat.

Bonding is the same as with normal piggies. He will have to wait 6 weeks post op until he is 100% safe to go with girls (I have the daughter of an over 5 weeks post op boar here, just to prove that point), but if he can spend that time next to and with interaction through the bars to the girls, acceptance is a lot more likely when you finally introduce them on neutral ground. You can find lots of tips at the top of the behaviour section.

I don't have any skinny boars but my Katie skinny used to live with a neutered boar Barney and there were no issues. I have 2 other female skinnies who I am planning on bonding with my other neutered boar Barley and his friend Ellie over the next few weeks, though he has a possible health issue I want to get sorted first.
