I have a bonded pair of girls who used to live with my other female Sausage (recently had unexpected litter of babies). Sausage will be coming home soon with the two babies (if they are girls). They will be inside for a while but then I'm hoping to introduce Sausage (+ babies if I keep them) to the other girls again. The hutch and run is large with plenty of hiding places but am not sure how to go about it. I have introduced them before but in that case I just put her in my Nero 4 and sat and watched. I also have a couple of female rescue piggies moving in shortly who will live in my smaller hutch until Sausage settles again. Is it possible to slowly introduce a group of females as long as they have enough space? They are all confirmed females.

I would reintroduce them on neutral ground with lots of space. Just because Sausage has been with them, doesn't mean you can skip that part, as she smells "other" now. And in the guinea pig world there is only "us" and "other".

See how the indroduction goes and take it from there. As long as there is no aggression, things should go fine, but sometimes you need to toughen it out through some pretty hefty dominance behaviour.

All the best to lovely Sausage and her (hopefully) two daughters!
