Introducing Effies new friend

After recently losing our beautiful Milan, poor Effie became very quiet. On Saturday, she visited a rescue and was matched with gorgeous 4 year old Flo. She is a character for sure and loves chewing anything and everything!

I find bonding really stressful, but I think it's going well. Effie is definiately much, much happier already :luv:

Bonding is always stressful, so that’s a perfectly normal feeling. But the piggies know what to do and find it less stressful than we do. Hang in there. Flo is beautiful.
 
Thanks all! We still have lots of pushing out of hidies at the moment, but hopefully it will die down 🥰

It has been pretty mild, until this evening. Flo keeps chasing Effie around the cage, rumblestrutting and possibly trying to mount her. This is the first time I've seen this behaviour from her, so unsure as to whether she's come into season. Effie has been making quite a dramatic sound and squirted Flo with pee

Just leave them alone for now. If Flo is in season this will pass within a day. And it sounds like Effie has things under control! Hopefully tomorrow will be calmer.
 
Congratulations on what sounds like a successful bonding. Flo is gorgeous and it’s lovely that beautiful Effie is happier.

When I bonded my 2 pairs of sows it seemed that for a while both Priscilla and Jemimah had strong seasons and always one after the other.
It was interesting for a while until they calmed down
